Celebrating New Year's España Style

From our Spanish teacher Ms. Midyette:

"On the last day of classes before Winter Break, my Spanish students enjoyed an early New Year's and celebrated as they do in Spain - by counting down to midnight and then eating 12 grapes, one with each chime of the clock. Thank you to all the parents who donated grapes for the activity!"

VMFA Field Trip

From our art teacher Ms. Russell:

"In December before the Winter Holiday, one of my art classes walked to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts to see the visiting exhibit The Forbidden City. Students studied the paintings and artifacts in advance and participated in being their own docents. Hot chocolates in hand, the class picture was taken before our chilly walk back to Hill.

We are so fortunate to be so close to this wonderful art museum and will continue to take walking field trips there throughout the year."
